2002

Bluestone Cleaning was formed in 2002 by Guy Ligertwood and his wife Sandrita Ponce de Ligertwood.

Without a vehicle buses were the preferred method for getting from job to job at that time.

Guy and Sandrita did all the original cleaning.

2003 – 2004

Kornel Polgar was taken on as the first full time employee and a little red van became the first Bluestone company vehicle.

Jim Freeman joins Bluestone from Standard Life as Operations Manager.

In year two the business tripled.

2004 – 2005

Bluestone move from the box room home office to a real office at 36 East Claremont Street, Edinburgh.

In year three the business tripled again.

2005 – 2006

Bluestone junk is set up as a new side to the business, removing junk & rubbish for the commercial and domestic market in Edinburgh.

In year four the business doubled.

2007

Fiona Gilmour joins Bluestone as General Manager.

Bluestone moves to larger premises at 41 West Bowling Green Street, Edinburgh.

For 2007 Bluestone plans to double the business with approximately 50 full time staff.
